Shadowflag’s second album, 'The White Grave', was originally self-released in 2015. The album refined Shadowflag’s matchless blend of blackened metal, poetry and enthralling soundscapes. Clobber Records is proud to reissue this work in 2019 as a special edition digipak with two bonus tracks; “Pure Evil and Hate” (Behemoth cover) and “I am the Blood” (live in Ukraine).
Recorded at Hellfire Studios and produced by Ajeet Gill (Memoriam/Sacrilege), with drums provided by Anil Carrier (Anaal Nathrahk), the concept of the album was inspired by the folklore and imagination-stories of the world's abandoned street children. 'The White Grave' can be interpreted in many ways as it intrigues the listener with soaring black metal soundscapes before plunging them into the deep darkness of sections of spoken word. It is filled with desperation in a similar way to the street children about which it is written. It holds their fears, their dreams and, ultimately, their lives.
The black metal band from Cheltenham UK, create soundscapes that primarily draw influence from black metal while allowing hints of thrash, doom and blackened metal to creep into their music. Incorporating poetry and spoken word, they mould their creations into more than simply music. The riffs are wound around tales and ideas as the words scream and growl like guitars.
To mark the reissue of this extraordinary album, a new 'Eye of the Swarm' T-shirt design has been created. Fans can pick up the shirt on it's own or as a bundle with the special edition digipak.
