Things are really ramping up for gigs this month – May is looking mighty fine! I’m sure you’ve already got your eyes on some shows. This guide aims to give you a flavour of what’s happening up and down the country. We can’t mention every gig but if you think we’ve forgotten something important, please let us know! We focus on the smaller underground shows but might throw in some bigger events if we feel like it.
Here at Clobber, we're very excited to be working with our first ever international band - Salix Babylonica - all the way from Ecuador. We will be releasing their perfectly melancholic split with UK black metal stars ABSINTHROPY on 12 April. We sat down with vocalist/lyricist A. Nostalgie to find out more about the project, why she feels compelled to make music and the music scene in Ecuador.
It's not long before UK extreme metal heavyweights ABSINTHROPY unleash their spine-chilling split release with Ecuador black doom outfit SALIX BABYLONICA (Clobber, 12/04/2019). These guys haven't been pulling punches for the last 10 years either through their absorbing and fairly extensive back catalogue as well as countless mesmerising live shows. Their reputation is growing by the day and, with that in mind, we knew that we must waste no time and catch up with Fowler and White to find out all about their mission and their minds.
April is going to be good – we can feel it in our collective bones. The time is right to really get out there and listen to some terrible noise. This guide aims to give you a flavour of what’s happening up and down the country. We can’t mention every gig – we’re not omnipresent but if you think we’ve forgotten something important, please let us know! For this guide we’ll be focussing on the smaller underground shows but we may mention some of the bigger tours when the mood takes us!
February was an amazing month for gigs. We hope your eardrums, wallets and livers are ready to face whatever March has in store for you. Just remember, you can rest when you’re dead. Now is for noise and chaos.
Here we highlight some of the shows people are putting on around the UK in March. We focus on the smaller underground shows but we have thrown in a cheeky mention or two of some bigger tours that you simply shouldn’t miss.
If we’ve missed anything you feel people need to be aware of please shout loudly about this via the social media platform of your choice – we love it when people point out our shortcomings!
